Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital Honors Freedom-Fighters

Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh is offering free treatments to the Freedom-Fighters in the country to show honor and respect to the Freedom-fighters of Bangladesh and in remembrance of the deceased renowned film-maker Tarek Masud and a reputed journalist Mishuk Muneer,.

The hospital started a special unit to provide free healthcare for the freedom-fighters since July 9, 2011. Over 300 freedom-fighters have already received treatment and 11 are admitted in the hospital and receiving treatment.

Japan-BD Friendship Hospital has decided to spend a total sum of 1,50,000 BDT (Approx. 2000 USD) for the medical expense of one Abu Taher, a freedom-fighter. Abu Taher hails from the Chittagong District of Bangladesh. Heart-patient Taher is being treated under Dr. M.A Baki.

The hospital also decided to provide complete free treatment to one person every year to show honor to the recently deceased film-maker and a newsman.

A program was held on August 23, 2011 at 4 pm (local time) in Dhaka to mark this event. Cancer specialist Professor Dr. A.B.M.F Karim, Heart specialist Dr. M.A Baqi, Japan-BD Friendship Hospital Finance Director Sardar A. Razzak were present at the event.

The program was supervised by the hospital chairman, renowned pain specialist Professor Dr. Jonaid Shafiq, Managing Director of the hospital, Laparoscopic specialist Prof. Dr. Sardar A. Nayeem.
